Senior Procurement Specialist

 

WAXIT is seeking a highly experienced, self-driven Procurement Specialist who will take full ownership of procurement, stock control and warehouse systems across the business and franchise network.

This is not a junior role and not a role that will be micromanaged. We need someone who can build systems from the ground up, create efficiencies, drive savings and run the function independently.

You will be accountable for ensuring zero stock-outs, accurate forecasting, franchise-first prioritisation and a fully systemised, barcoded warehouse environment.

Responsibilities

• Source and procure consumables and products locally and internationally, with a strong focus on China and global suppliers
• Negotiate pricing, MOQs, lead times, payment terms and logistics to drive cost savings and margin improvement
• Manage supplier relationships, audits, performance tracking, and contingency planning
• Ensure product quality, compliance and consistency across all suppliers

Stock Control, Forecasting and Planning

Take full ownership of stock planning and forecasting

Build forward-looking stock projections based on:

• Franchise growth
• Seasonal trends
• Historical usage
• Campaigns and promotions
• Ensure franchisee stock requirements are always prioritised

Proactively advise franchisees on:

• Stock levels
• Reordering
• Future demand

Maintain buffer stock policies to ensure the business never runs out of critical items

Warehouse and Systems Management

Own and manage the warehouse operation end-to-end

Implement and maintain a fully barcoded inventory system

Ensure real-time stock visibility and accuracy

Design and enforce warehouse SOPs:

• Receiving
• Picking and packing
• Dispatch
• Stock counts and audits
• Drive continuous improvement in warehouse efficiency and accuracy

Systems, Data and Reporting

Be an Excel power user (advanced formulas, pivot tables, forecasting models, dashboards)

Build and maintain:

• Stock tracking models
• Cost analysis reports
• Forecasting tools

Work with ERP / inventory management systems and improve them where needed

Deliver clear, accurate reporting to leadership on:

• Stock levels
• Risks
• Savings achieved
• Supplier performance

Franchising Focus

Deep understanding of franchise models and operational needs

Franchisees are always front and centre

Ensure:

• Fair and consistent stock allocation
• Clear communication
• Proactive stock advice
• Reliable fulfilment timelines

Act as a trusted internal partner to the franchise network

What success looks like in this role

• The warehouse is fully systemised, barcoded, and controlled
• The business never runs out of stock
• Franchisees are always supported and prioritised
• Procurement delivers measurable cost savings
• Forecasting is proactive, not reactive
• Leadership does not need to chase or micromanage this function

Required Experience and Skills

• 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain or inventory management (essential)
• Proven experience sourcing products internationally, especially from China
• Strong warehouse and stock management experience
• Advanced Excel skills (non-negotiable)
• Experience implementing or managing inventory / ERP systems
• Strong commercial and analytical mindset
• Experience working in or alongside franchise environments (highly advantageous)
